Comida Hailed for Good Working Conditions

Upscale Mexican eatery was recently hailed for their ethical working conditions, by Restaurant Opportunities Center, a group dedicated to improving wages and workplace safety in the food service industry.

According to ROC's dining guide (PDF), which awarded the restaurant with it’s two-star silver prize, Comida pays its workers at least $5 per hour, not including their tips.

When Patch , our reviewer found the service quick and friendly (if the food lacking a bit). We wondered if the restaurant would survive in the space in Fifth Avenue and President Street, a location with a historically quick turnover in business, but a year later, their doors remain open.
